Pupil Leadership
Office Juniors
This is one of our coveted leadership roles. Children in Y6 help our ladies in Reception by answering the telephone, delivering messages and mail and completing administrative tasks. To be an Office Junior children apply for the role, sit an interview with the Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher where they answer a series of questions and complete a telephone task. The successful candidates are then allocated one day a week to participate in their role.
Junior Road Safety Officers
The JRSOs are talented, handy helpers who keep the school and community safe! JRSOs stands for Junior Road Safety Officers. There are four children from each of the Y5 classes who represent the whole school. Everyone wants to keep safe including the people surrounding you and one way could be keep the road safe by encouraging people to walk to school in a safe and sensible way. JRSOs monitor safety around the outside of the school and especially ask parents to drive and park carefully and legally so that we are not hurt. JRSOs have orange badge with gold writing.
Brilliant Beech Hill Eco-Warriors
Everyone in our school follows this Eco-Schools ethos. We advocate sustainability within the school and our wider community giving children an understanding of the links between their behaviour and impact on our environment.
“Beech Hill School has worked extremely hard to achieve this award. The school is a delight and the children are proud and knowledgeable in respect of their achievements. This is a town school with no grass or playing fields area; nonetheless, the school has developed all outdoor spaces for outdoor education. Beech Hill should be a show case for other similar urban schools hoping to develop the Eco-Schools ethos.” Comments received from Keep Britain Tidy
